Andy Kagwa, currently the Chair of the Digital Journalists of Kenya (DJK), has worked as a journalist for over 25 years with vast experience in writing, editing and editorial administration/management.
He is the Operations Editor at the Standard Group Plc, one of the leading media houses in Kenya. Has held various senior positions including: Editorial Administration Manager, Production/Revise Editor (Weekend Editions), Associate Editor, Production (Daily Editions), Supplements Editor and Feature Writer.
He has been a panelist on various forums discussing media issues including on the BRICS Media Forum in Cape Town and Media Council of Kenya (MCK) World Press Freedom Day and International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists (IDEI) panel discussions.
He is currently undertaking an MA in Leadership Studies at the International Leadership University (ILU). He has a BA (Political Science/Sociology) from the University of Nairobi and Diploma in Journalism from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC). He is a Fellow – International Journalism Exchange (IJE) programme – USA and trained in Newspaper Management in Germany.

Christine is a practising journalist and the current Secretary of the Digital Journalists of Kenya (DJK), where she oversees the organisation’s operations and supports the execution of its mission to empower digital media professionals across the country.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies, both from the University of Nairobi.
With a background in newsroom reporting and digital storytelling, she brings hands-on experience and deep insight into the evolving challenges and opportunities in Kenya’s media landscape.
In her role, Christine coordinates internal communications, manages logistics for training and advocacy initiatives, and ensures that DJK’s programs run smoothly and effectively.
Her passion lies in building a strong support system for fellow journalists navigating the digital space, advocating for press freedom, and promoting ethical, impactful journalism.

Mburu manages day to day operations of DJK- Digital Journalists of Kenya, helping in grants strategy, seminal, workshop and training budgeting.
20 years as an area customer manager at Alpine Coolers Nairobi, Kenya.
Vast experience in sports, photography as well occupational health and safety field.
Graduated from Meru technical training institute in the early 80’s in accounts.

Nzula is a digital journalist and the current Vice Chair of the Digital Journalists of Kenya (DJK).
She holds a Master’s degree in Digital and Broadcast Journalism and brings a wealth of experience in both traditional and emerging media.
Currently a digital journalist at KBC, she previously served as a junior editor at a local fashion magazine, where she honed her editorial and content development skills.
As Vice Chair, Nzula leads DJK’s digital strategy and supporting innovation in how DJK engages with its community.
As a proud member of the Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK), she is passionate about digital inclusion, gender representation in media, and equipping journalists with the tools to thrive in the digital era.
